Saklıkent Canyon

One of the deepest canyons in the Mediterranean — 18 kilometres long and up to 300 metres deep, carved by the Eşen River through the Taurus foothills. A shepherd found the gorge in the 1980s; today wooden platforms lead over the ice-cold water at the entrance, with the narrow canyon walkable further in once the spring snowmelt eases.
